So Toney found us on our website, few emails later and we are quoting an Ls engine swap into a mustang with new mustang II front end. The 5.3 going into the car has been at the machine shop for sometime because they got backed up, luckily it will be back soon so Phil can start the build.
Last week Phil started the front end. Jeff had already removed the suspension so Phil got to start the fabrication work. There is more than just cutting out the old and putting in the new, the kit is pretty universal so there is a lot of geometry and test fitting happening. Here's a few photos- We have a full shop! I can't believe how busy we are! Ac work, cooling system, ford 6.0 issues and a motor home! Gee whiz! Happy and thankful we are so busy Boy have I sucked lately at keeping up on the blog! Jacob took the torch home and she's been running great. Of course the kiddo doesn't get to drive it yet, she got grounded for hitting a parked car. We've all been there.. Now we have a 69 c10 we are redoing the sheet metal floor on. She was pretty rough in the flooring but the bracing was horrible. So it's all getting cut out and replaced. We have a 66 mustang now! She's getting a 5.3 & 4l60, because as you know the best way to make a ford cool is to put a Chevy in it. Then the hearse has the big block back in it, we reset the motor location moving it up a few inches and back, losing the factory ac but that's life. Sometimes you have to sacrifice parts to make a beast of a motor fit. She's getting custom made headers tomorrow. Then her sister- the cadmino- is still at paint for the body side, now the frame is sandblasted and tubbed but we are waiting on the rear end to finish that up. Gabe had been busy making harnesses, especially Randi's for the snowcone. We have to retain some factory wiring on that one, so it's taking a bit longer. Also did a harness for a 4x4 recovery vehicle, Joe Osuch... And another for a local restoration shop. Eric has come a long way and think we finally found his niche. That boy has the vision with metal! He had been fabricating a turbo set up, working on the cadmino and hearse. We are keeping him busy and in 2 weeks we have another c10 coming in for c-notches and a 4 link set up. Mike and Jeff have been working on all kinds of daily driver work. Jeff got himself stuck on a few little buggies, one to be made street legal for the customers hosier in the white mountains. Bringing those back from a few years sitting has been quite the task. Especially finding parts :(. Mike has pulled a 90 something tpi motor out of a Trans am since it continued to have intermix after another shop in michigan supposedly fixed it. Waiting on that block to come back and see if she's cracked. Manh's 67 c10 made it back to fallbrook just before the fires started in San Diego county! Thankfully Manh, his family and the truck all came through just fine!!! Phil and Randi made the decision to forward the shop phone to Randi's cell so we don't miss any calls. It's much easier to communicate with our wonderful customers when we don't have to call back or have you repeat yourselves!! Lastly- if you bring us a children's you between now and June 15,2014 we will give you 10% off. All toys will be donated to children in the hospital battling cancer. Fiends of ours recently went thru cancer treatment with their lil guy, same age as miss k, luckily he is currently in no evidence of disease stage!!! Go parker!! Randi will personally deliver all the toys people bring to Phoenix children's hospital. We have challenged our friends how own a pinup shop in Escondido, ca... Loser buys lunch. :(. So far they are kicking our butt! So come on guys!!! Always feel free to call us with questions!!! Custom built wiring harness raffle time!!! 1 for $5 5 for $20 20 for $50 Call me or come in for tickets 480 610 4599 Have you gotten a call for a survey? If so I would love to know! It's repair pal.com just looking to see how we are doing. It's exciting because they don't pick too many shops in an area to work with. This could be great for us!!! Jacob came to us about a year ago looking to put a v8 motor in his 83 s10 for his teenage daughter. Lucky girl if you ask me! He picked up a running motor and transmission from a Tahoe, and the project began. In November he dropped the truck off, where unfortunately it had to sit for a few months so we could clean out some other projects, then we jumped into it. Jacob had cut out part of the frame in the engine area to make sure the engine would fit, we modified it, cleaned her up a bit and repainted it black. Next the ac box needed some modifications to clear the last coil pack. Luckily the ls2 intake sit low enough to clear the stock hood. We had to shorten the driveline a few inches and have new u-joints installed, after all they were 32 years old :). Final assembly is currently taking place along with a new ac condenser, radiator, headers, exhaust and of course, a PRK wiring harness for an e38 computer. I will get some photos up as she gets closer to completion. While it's not a totally custom build, it is a special one. I foresee some high school boys being pretty jealous of a cute girl driving a v8 s10. As you can the see the beast is coming to life! Lupe's 1979 Cadillac deville, as we call it, the cadmino is coming along. This beast is a year in the making. Originally she was to be a nicely built 6.0 with 6l90 transmission, you know a fun car. Right... That was just the beginning, after some thinking, and he does this a lot, lupe decided the car needs to auto crossed. Well why not! After pulling the motor back out, she's now being twin turbo'd! The rear end is being redone, with new axles by Raven Industries. We have narrowed the frame in the rear axle area, pics to come, and tubbed the bed!! This bad boy is something! Did you know that under the bed is storage area!? Holy moly! The airbag compressor is going in there, possibly the gas tank! I will keep updating you as I have more!! In working on Dave's belair we found that the rear end of the car wasn't even attached and was not straight! Oi did this cause some more problems and time in the build. Originally the plan was to fix some of the rusty areas to bring back the structure of the car and then fill in the wheel wells. Well with the work the previous owner did or maybe didn't do we ended up completely remaking the trunk. I will post more photos as we finish up but the car will be running next week! Update 2/2014 She's running!!!! Sounds amazing! I have more photos and videos and once I have the dyno sheets I will upload those too!!! Today 2/26/14 the belair went home!!! She sounds amazing, 244 rwhp & 250 ftlb torque. We are happy with the results!! 10% off or free shipping on all orders over the weekend!!! Email me!! Prkautomotive@hotmail.com. |
